What:  An Ocean Gathering for those concerned about the Gulf oil spill…
When:  Sunday, June 27th at 9 PM
Where: Narragansett Beach

Description:
We are gathering at Narragansett Beach at 9pm on Sunday, June 27 for a time of
quiet reflection, music, words and meditation on the great gift of the
oceans. Moonrise (one day past full) is at 9:21pm. This will be a
loosely structured time when we can have in front of us the power of the
sea and the moon, think about its connectedness with all the great
bodies of water, and contemplate our connectedness with all life.

If you like, bring an instrument, or an appropriate poem or song to
share. This will not be a program of one performance after another, nor
will it be a church service, even though there will be clergy present.
We are allowing plenty of time just for sitting and quiet, where the
water and the waves and the birds provide the music, and the wisdom.
While we may not spend a lot of time talking about our responses to the
crisis, or “what we can do,” we ask that you look long and hard at your
own habits of consumption and energy use, and make changes now as if all
of our lives depend on it. We will not be talking politics, or boycotts,
or about the companies responsible. There are other places to do that.

We are in trouble, friends. This is a grave time, and we need to stay
mindful that this crisis is far from over. We need each other right now.
Hope to see you there.

Please, please carpool./*_Please also check your e-mail on Sat. night or
Sunday for any updates.
